Discography

2005 saw the launch of Manzuma's debut album, "Inside the Serpent Skin". The album received glowing reviews from a number of different directions. 2008 sees the release of Manzuma's second album, "Hollows". Darker, moodier than "Serpent", album 2 reads somewhat the same forwards as it does backwards. This page is an overview of both Manzuma's albums thus far.

Hollows

Hollows

"Hollows" is Manzuma's second album; takes a dark turn. "Hollows" begins with the sci-fi strains of "Symmetry", and it's the notion of balance that guides this album. "Hollows" is a musical palindrome, of sorts, winding itself up to the centre of "Ash, & Blown Away" then unraveling. It reads the same forwards as it does backwards. Each part has its equal on the other side of the album.

"Inside the Serpent Skin" was Manzuma's first LP. Each track on the album had a connection to, yet clear distinction from, each other song. The album was a slow crystallisation of What Manzuma Is. There is room to breathe amongst these songs, and they want you to.

  3. Darker Spaces (5:19)
  4. Skyborn (7:39)

This debut album generated a warm response from Brisbane's media. The album was reviewed in Scene Magazine and John Frame of 4ZZZ FM had some very nice things to say.
