Manzuma, or should that be Vanessa, has been awarded Best Female Vocals for Skyborn in the week of October 20th on Garage Band. That award wasn't just for the genre of Alternative Pop, but OVERALL! We picked up some other mentions within Alternative Pop, too. All of these are for Skyborn:

The new site is finally here. This has been quite a redesign to theme it in line with Hollows and make it more useable, generally. (If you remember the last one you'll no doubt appreciate this new one. Incidentally, thank you for coming back!)

We've finished our 2008 promo EP, Darker Spaces. The 3-track disc features entirely new recordings of Symmetry, Darker Spaces and Skyborn. Although it's not for sale you can hear these recordings here.

Manzuma's first show in a while was at The Globe Theatre on June 12th. It was our first airing of 4 songs from Hollows and the first show with Dale.

The show featured projections by Canadian video artist Jime Lemoire exploring his take on the songs. The complexity of Jime's work is stunning, and its beauty fortunately not lost on the audience.

The 40 minute set included:

We spoke to a few people after the show who claimed it to be 'engaging' and that it 'sounded awesome'. Thank you to The Globe's sound engineer and Jime.

Hollows is now pressed and available.

The cover artwork features images designed by Deon Roux of Village FX Studios. It's sparse, but crucially so. The 16 page booklet has all the words and photos/graphics/cartoons by Robert Braiden, Deon Roux, Lauren Moore, Vanessa Cronin & Tim Fairless.
